Privacy policy
Effective October 27, 2026
Virle is a free video guessing game operated by Salvatore LoGrasso in Brooklyn, New York, USA. This policy describes the game’s own code and the third-party services used to deliver it.
What the game uses
- Entry acknowledgment: a local record of completing the 13+ confirmation and terms and privacy agreement, the terms version and acknowledgment time. No birthday, exact age, identity document or player identifier is requested. This record stays in your browser, is not sent by the game to an application server, and expires after 180 days. “Reset entry check” clears it on shared devices. If browser storage is blocked, the check applies only to the current page visit. This is self-reported, not identity or age verification.
- Guesses and scores: processed in the current browser tab. Virle does not send your guesses to an application server or public leaderboard. Optional saving stores your game progress, selected set and sound preference in this browser.
- Privacy choices: saved on your device until you clear site data so the site can respect your choices. Optional permissions expire after 180 days; declined choices remain off without repeated prompts. You can play with optional saving and YouTube players disabled.
- Technical requests: the hosting and delivery services receive information needed to serve a website, such as your IP address, requested URL, browser information and request time. Virle is hosted through OpenAI Sites, whose deployment infrastructure uses Cloudflare. These providers may maintain operational and security logs; their precise retention and access arrangements are not controlled by this game’s browser code.
- Optional YouTube player: only after you enable it, Virle embeds videos using YouTube’s privacy-enhanced player at youtube-nocookie.com. Google receives technical data including your IP address, browser information and the site origin when the player loads, even before Play. Playing shares additional data. Privacy-enhanced mode limits personalization; it does not mean no data collection, ads, cookies or device storage. YouTube may serve non-personalized ads and further resources from Google domains. Disabling players removes loaded frames and stops new player requests by Virle; it cannot recall prior requests or clear Google’s data. See Google’s Privacy policy and YouTube’s embed guidance.
- Messages you choose to send: if you email support, we receive your email address and whatever you include. The contact form only prepares a draft in your email app; it does not send or upload your message.
- Sharing: Copy challenge and Save score card run on your device. If you send a challenge link, its URL contains the game identifier and score. Your chosen recipient and messaging service receive what you share.
What we do not add
Virle itself adds no advertising, analytics SDK, tracking pixel, session replay, fingerprinting code, mailing list, payment processing or player account system. We do not sell or share player information for targeted advertising. The open beta does not require a player account. YouTube may show ads in its player. Hosting security and delivery may involve provider mechanisms outside the game’s controls.
Why information is used
Information is used to deliver the game, honor your settings, save progress when requested, keep the service operating and respond to messages. Optional device storage and player loading are controlled by your choices. Information you email is used for your request, not to enroll you in marketing.
Storage and retention
Unsaved progress lasts in this page’s memory and is lost when the page closes or reloads. If you enable saving, progress stays on the device until you delete it, turn saving off, clear site data or your browser removes it. After 180 days optional permissions expire and those features turn off on your next visit. You can enable them again in Privacy settings; we do not automatically ask again. Previously saved progress is not read until saving is enabled again. Hosting logs and email-provider copies follow those providers’ retention practices. Support correspondence is kept only as needed to handle the request and any related security, dispute or legal obligations; contact us to request deletion.
Your choices and requests
Use to change choices or delete saved game data. Turning saving off removes the game’s saved progress and sound settings; it does not clear other websites’ data. The current in-memory game may continue until the page is closed. Browser controls can also clear site data.
For access, correction, deletion or another privacy question, email salvilograssobiz@gmail.com. Please provide only enough information to identify the request. Your rights depend on the laws that apply to you; we will handle requests under applicable law and may need proportionate verification. We cannot identify your locally saved scores from your email address. There is no sale or advertising-sharing feature for Global Privacy Control to opt out of, and we do not use that signal to create a profile.
Children and audience
Virle is intended for a general audience aged 13 and older, not directed to children under 13. Some featured titles and linked videos contain mature language or themes. We do not request birth dates, identity documents or children’s contact details. If you believe a child under 13 has sent us personal information, contact us so we can address it.
External services and changes
YouTube connects when you enable the embedded player or follow a watch link. Virle uses YouTube API Services through that player. Google has its own data practices. Relevant provider policies: OpenAI privacy policy (new tab), Cloudflare privacy policy (new tab), and Google privacy policy (new tab). Services may process information outside your state or country. This site is currently intended for a US-focused launch. If our practices change, this page will be updated and new permission requested where required.
